She was placed under house arrest in Rangoon in 1989, where she remained for almost 15 of the 21 years until her release in 2010, becoming one of the world's most prominent political prisoners. One word: Rohingya. Do your research, and you'll see why she is just another attention-grabbing, self-serving, racist hypocrite.

About the author
Aung San Suu Kyi is the leader Burma's National League for Democracy. She was first placed under house arrest in Rangoon in 1989, and in the summer of 2009 her confinement was extended by a further 18 months.
Her book of essays Freedom from Fear is also published by Penguin.
