Sungguh, puisi serupa Medusa. Barangsiapa menatap matanya, kaku gugu tubuhnya. Kau boleh menghitung mundur. Di luar, kelinci jatuh dari bulan. burung gagak meminjam teriakan Tuhan. Musik dimainkan-tidak ada nada minor. Patah hati selalu nisbi dan kita pandai berpura-pura.
Saya ingin punya umur panjang di dalam puisi-sekalipun jalannya berliku, berlubang, becek, juga banyak rambu yang seringkali saya langgar. Toh, pada akhirnya, saya mengamini Chairil Anwar, hidup hanya soal menunda kekalahan. Jauh sebelum itu terjadi, manusia bebas memilih cara bertahan. Dan saya memilih puisi.
