About this eBook

Codi Gary's back with another installment in her fan-favorite Rock Canyon series.

Callie Jacobsen isn't about to open her heart to just anyone. Not so very long ago, trusting someone changed her life forever—and not in a fun way. Now she's better off focusing on her career, her friends, and her dog. So when former Marine Everett Silverton takes an interest in her, Callie's more than a little wary. No matter how charming he is, men are a bad idea. In fact, she's got the scars to prove it.

But Everett isn't convinced Callie should shut everyone out—especially not him. He may be a hero to the people of Rock Canyon, but he's got his own demons, and he bets they're not that different from Callie's. Still, he knows it's going to take more than chemistry to get her to let her guard down. Everett will do whatever it takes to show her she's safe with him. All she has to do is take a chance, take a step … and take his hand.

What a fabulous book! Codi Gary outdid herself big time! As this series moves along, Ms. Gary gives us more and more complex characters, and shows us sides of characters from the previous books we did not even expect! Callie and Everett are broken, lonely people, scarred in more ways than one, and their road to love and happiness is filled with pitfalls, most of them Callie's own doing, albeit involuntarily. BAD FOR ME is an extremely intense book, but of such depth and humanity. Ms. Gary really loves these characters and it shows. Absolutely stunning writing!Everett is a wonderful man, but not without faults, and Callie is consumed with so much pain, at times it hurts to read, but she is a character I admire, and I felt like hugging her, especially when she confronts someone from her past. A fantastic book that really is about what love is all about.

This book had a more serious tone that some of the previous books in the series. Both Everett and Callie have gone through traumatic experiences that have shaped who they are today. Although they are attracted to each other, they are both are afraid of how their pasts may affect their relationship. Everett has an easier time moving forward, but Callie is still stuck in the past and it nearly destroys them. I loved Everett - he was so patient and loving with Callie. The romance between them felt so real, even when they had problems. It was also great to see catch up a bit with couples and characters from the previous books. I'm really looking forward to Mike's story next. 4.5 stars ARC via Edelweiss

A solid story about two likeable people fighting their individual demons while falling in love. Nice length with the number of pages too.
