Whenever I pick up a book by this talented author, I know I will fall in love with it. This one was no exception. The plot centers around Jared Montgomery, bachelor geologist working in the Middle East and loving his carefree life. When an explosion leaves him injured , his best friend dead and a baby entrusted to him to take back to the USA , he feels overwhelmed and hires a nanny until he can recover, “deal” with the baby, and return to the Middle East. Jenny Stratford , an elementary teacher, is hired by his sister to be the nanny. She needs to get away from her hometown and spending the Summer in New Orleans taking care of the baby, is ideal. By life is full of surprises, one being the attraction between the two of them. But they each have different goals in life . As good as the plot was , even though at times I wanted to give them each a piece of my mind :), the story was a reminder that sometimes what thought we always wanted, might not be want we want today. That the experiences of our childhood, do in fact affect how we act and see things as adults. That happiness and love can be found when you least expected, and that finding the right person, does in fact make life one filled with support, joy, and love. Another winner for this talented author. I was given this ARC copy. The opinions expressed, are solely my own.

Jared's Promise by Barbara McMahon is a book that I couldn't stop reading. I was glued to each and every captivating page as the story unfolded, I grew more and more intrigued with anticipation of what was to happen next. Barbara is one of my favorite authors and I think you will quickly realize why. She takes you right into the heartfelt story and you feel more embraced with every page turn. Jenny, a school teacher on break in New Orleans. Jared, an injured oil worker returned home. But he was not alone. He brought with him his recently passed friend's orphaned baby girl Jamie. Jared promised to bring Jamie to the US if anything were to happen. Jenny takes a part time job as a nanny for Jamie. She had recently broken up from a serious relationship prior to coming to New Orleans. She wanted to marry for love not out of convenience. Jared hopes to find a suitable family for Jamie since he often travels. He didn't expect to fall for the rather vocal yet beautiful nanny. Could this be the game changer for the traveling bachelor? Add to it that he is falling for Jamie. Summers end is only a few months away. Can the baby change both their lives? He kept putting off calling the lawyer. Was this a sign that he was changing his way of thinking? I highly recommend this read and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Barbara McMahon is quickly becoming becoming one of my favorite 1-click authors and she didn’t disappoint with Jared’s Promise. I loved this heartwarming story centered around orphaned Jamie. Jared brings Jamie back from U.A.E. after her father is killed in an accident and then her mother dies. Jenny is hired as the nanny to take care of her, while Jared recuperates from the injuries he received in the accident. They are instantly attracted to each other, but Jenny is just getting over a failed relationship and won’t settle for anything but love. Will these two figure out they’re perfect for one another or will Jared let his failed marriage and his dad’s ramblings ruin things? No spoilers so grab your copy and fall in love with this wonderful read.
