À propos de cet e-book

This is a non-calculus based circuit analysis text that can be offered in the first term. It could also be used by students as supplementary material for self study and as an additional source of information. Problem solutions are provided for all the problems in the book in order to provide the student with an extensive source of worked examples. Both DC and AC steady state circuit analysis are covered by introducing circuit analysis concepts with DC circuits containing sources and resistors using simpler math and then expanding the analysis to AC circuits containing sinusoidal sources, resistors, capacitors, and inductors using more complex math. Topics such as series, parallel, and series/parallel circuits, Ohm’s law, Kirchhoff’s voltage and current laws, voltage and current divider rules, superposition, Thevenin and Norton equivalent circuits, Pi-T circuit transformations, nodal voltage analysis method, frequency analysis, and Bode plots are covered. H. Michael Thomas is an electrical engineer with 29 years of experience in the defense electronics industry and 17 years experience in post secondary education. He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Ohio University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Colorado State University.

Mr. Thomas worked for Goodyear Aerospace in Akron, Ohio for 14 years. He did circuit design for aerial reconnaissance systems, simulation systems, and missile terminal guidance systems. He then went to work for Martin Marietta in Denver, Colorado for 11 years where he worked on NASA research programs involving earth observation experiments and space robotics systems. His last 4 years of industry experience were with Loral Defense Systems in Goodyear, Arizona where he worked on top secret reconnaissance systems. All three companies that Mr. Thomas worked for are now part of the Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Mr. Thomas taught as a part time adjunct professor for 2 years in the Electronics Engineering Technology program at Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado. He taught advanced circuit analysis. Following his industry experience Mr. Thomas accepted a position as Dean of Engineering Technology programs at DeVry University in Phoenix, Arizona where he served for 8 years. He stepped down from his Dean position to accept a Senior Professor position and taught circuit analysis, signal processing, and controls courses for his last 7 years. In his retirement, Mr. Thomas decided to use his free time to write a series of textbooks that would allow him to pass along his knowledge of electronics to future generations.
