About this ebook

Staying in town suited Bauer. Dealing with Kat and Badger’s matchmaking? Not so much. But, when a mutual friend calls to say an injured War Dog was dropped off at her clinic—only to then be stolen during the night after she completed surgery to fix his injured stump—well, Bauer is all over it.

Mags always liked Bauer, but she kept her personal relationships short and sweet. After all, commitments were too often broken and the resultant pain horrific. However, Bauer refuses to leave her in trouble and is here for her every step of the way; plus they share the love of animals. How can she ignore all that? Plus he is a hell of a package. But is she willing to take a chance on being hurt again?

The escalating danger—surrounding Toby, her injured War Dog—catches Mags and Bauer in a web of risk that can only end one way …

Both Bauer and Mags have eyed each other from a far for a fleeting instant or two with no intention of anything going further. Mags realizes her clinic was broken into an a war dog (Toby)stolen whose leg she just amputated. Bauer, ex military with his own prosthetics, shows up to look into things and assists. It is a fast pace read as they try and find Toby and who stole him. It's not a cut and dry answer and brings some things to light. It was a twisty read, I really enjoyed and had a HEA

This series about missing retired K9 dogs continues to capture my attention as injured recovering Seals often volunteer to investigate and help protect these retired dogs. In this case Toby brings Bauer and Mags together to solve the mystery. Toby being the abducted dog. The people involved in recruiting these volunteers Have discovered an added bonus which was unintentional in the beginning and now has become a constant and that is matchmaking which makes the story even more fun.

About the author

Dale Mayer is a USA Today bestselling author who writes for the young, the old and those in-between. Some of her books are hot, some are sweet. Some will keep you up at night with a light on to keep the boogie man away and some you’ll want to cuddle close. She’s long given up on trying to fit a specific genre. Instead she honors the stories that come to her – and some of them are crazy, break all the rules and cross multiple genres! And that’s okay too. There is one guarantee with each book – it will be a great read – each and every time.
