TRIGGER WARNING!! Mention of past sexual abuse of trafficked child. Adult content! Phoenix is a hacker that the FBI uses but she wants an office and a badge. Without it, she can't get to the paper file she needs to bring down the Levin family. She knows they had something to do with her missing uncle and for what they did to her. She still lives in the real life nightmare of her past and she's going to end them and their empire that's built on evil. Aleksander knows that the sins of his father have come to face off with him. Yet he can't help the way he's drawn to her, despite the fact he has to kill her. When he finds out about her involvement with the FBI he knows she can't be killed by his family. After she turns up at his doorstep beaten and bloody from an attempt on her life, he does the only thing he can do to keep her as well as his family safe. He marries her! This is full of "GASP" moments and while Phoenix has gone through so much, she's NOT weak! Protecting his woman from present danger while helping her heal from her past keeps the story's action on high. This isn't a story where love makes all problems go away. I respect the way it's written with what both are going through in mind. Even though she's not really sure who she is because all she's known for so long is hate, he NEVER makes her feel like "less" or "perverted" as she finds who she is. This deals with very real and raw emotions. You will be angry, maybe even cry (I did), and you will be very happy for her in her HEA. YES I recommend this book!
