About this ebook

When the family business collapses, Beauty and her two sisters are forced to leave the city and begin a new life in the countryside. However, when their father accepts hospitality from the elusive and magical Beast, he is forced to make a terrible promise - to send one daughter to the Beast's castle, with no guarantee that she will be seen again. Beauty accepts the challenge, and there begins an extraordinary story of magic and love that overcomes all boundaries. This is another spellbinding and emotional tale embroidered around a fairytale from Robin McKinley, an award-winning American author.

Absolutely adore this book. I have read it multiple times, and bought copies for people, who have in turn loved it. It is one of my comfort reads. This story is a quiet magic. Mckinley re-tells this story in such a way that one could almost believe it had really happened if humankind's past had had a little magic in it...maybe it did. And the beast is soooo much more convincing than other re-tells I have read. He has learnt from his punishment and has become a wise beast. Very cool. Love how McKinley weaves it together.

Not that I need to download this title- I own a real copy- but just want to say that it is a gorgeous retelling of the old story, family closeness, romance, very sweet. My own daughter is almost old enough to read it now! It is wonderful to see that it is available here, I had alot of difficulty getting it in at the shop.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, although at times the descriptions were a little tedious. I do feel the end was rushed and not well written or thought out.
