Beauty After Brokenness

Screams filled the air but they were barely heard over the loud screeching sound of the trains brake before they suddenly went silent and a gut wrenching sound of metal twisting fill her ears. The entire accident took a few seconds, but it seemed like an eternity. Jordan was lying on her side in stunned silence. A second later her whole body was consumed with panic. She pulled herself up and looked around. She had to get back to their berth, to her baby. Fear consumed her as she tried to make her way back to number seven where she had left her husband and baby. All she could see was a debris-scattered landscape, the metal glistening in the bright sunlight. She had to find her baby. She yelled but her voice was buried beneath all the other cries and screams. After the accident, she was completely unreasonable and inconsolable, but the girl Kendra just kept coming back. Six months later, she was still so dependent on others it was like she wasn't able to move forward at all. She had been dreaming again, the same awful nightmare that she had been wrestling with since that awful day. Would this pain ever end? She hated her counseling sessions because they forced her to think about the accident and everything she had lost. Pastor Weber and his wife had been faithful to her giving her hope when she couldn't see anything but darkness. Her smile grew wider as she recalled another scripture he had shared with her. Ps.147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. She did have to admit she had made progress since the accident, the sessions with Pastor Weber were helping. Jordan came in to work feeling lighter than ever and was on her way to getting back to the business of living. Her head did not feel like it was lost in a fog anymore. For months Kendra had been coming by and helped her get through her grief, she feared that Kendra would no longer see the need to come and check on her since she was on the mend. Pastor Weber(Brayden)has his own sense of problems, his wife Marian's behavior was odd. She was never at home. She wasn't taking care of her responsibilities. Why was she acting so mysterious and strange? Is she stepping out on him? Will the attraction between Brayden and Jordan come true? This is the first time I read anything from this author, very well-written. However this book ends in a cliffhanger you have to get the next book to see what happened to the preacher's wife. And see what is going to happen with the pastor and Jordan.

This one has me wondering, who mystery man is, and WHY! Why did it have to end, leaving me hanging like this! Wasn't expecting that, a real CLIFF HANGER, 'EXCELLENT'!
