I love that each of these books are bite size so to speak, can be read in one sitting but believe me there is nothing lacking in the plot or the character development due to the length. I am in awe of the author's ability at keeping the story line as well as the evolution of the characters and their relationships. Fiona and her men are not exactly having an easy time doing what they set out to do which is to keep the school safe. I received a free copy of this book directly from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Lots of intrigue in this one, and the tension is building rapidly with the council on house arrest. Of course, the more Fiona figures out, the more determined she is to learn more. There are also some interesting developments with Fiona's magic even as she sometimes struggles with it all. We still have lots of questions, and Fiona and company don't know who to trust, so don't expect a lot of development there, but darned if this serial isn't loads of fun even if the author does hold out on us!
