About this ebook

Winner of the 2018 Christy Award Book of the Year

After a devastating heartbreak three years ago, genealogist and historical village owner Nora Bradford has decided that burying her nose in her work and her books is far safer than romance in the here and now.

Unlike Nora, former Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient John Lawson is a modern-day man, usually 100 percent focused on the present. But when he's diagnosed with an inherited condition, he's forced to dig into the secrets of his past and his adoption as an infant, enlisting Nora to help him uncover the identity of his birth mother.

The more time they spend together, the more this pair of opposites suspects they just might be a perfect match. However, John's already dating someone and Nora's not sure she's ready to trade her crushes on fictional heroes for the risks of a real relationship. Finding the answers they're seeking will test the limits of their identity, their faith, and their devotion to one another.

4.5 stars actually. There is a prequel to this series, The Bradford Series called Then Came You. However it is not necessary to read to understand anything going on in this novel. This is actually the first in the series and I look forward to reading them all. I fell in love with all three sisters, Willow, Britt and of course Nora. Nora is a fun character to get to know. She is used to being in the background and is ok in that situation. She loves helping people. When the handsome Navy Seal needs her help is there more to discover than his ancestry? Nora is not what John Lawson expected. He is a strong, handsome, caring well known Navy Seal. When secrets reveal things he may not understand, can he trust God to always know what is best? I love the relationship Nora has with her sisters. They each have their own unique personalities and qualities, When John comes into the picture I instantly fell in love with him. This book is full of love, friendships, some mystery, forgiveness and more. I can not wait for the next one to come out, I already know who I would like to see a lot more of in the next book. I loved all the characters in this one and look forward to learning more about each one.

I love a hero who is the strong, silent type! However, make him vulnerable and that's the ultimate for me! I don't know how Becky Wade keeps crafting such unbelievable families and characters but once again, she's outdone herself! I couldn't imagine that she could create another family as good as her last series, the Porters, but the Bradford girls are going to be just as good, I can tell already. And, the men who love them as also going to be amazing if this first book is any indication! In "True To You", our hero is John and he's the perfect Navy SEAL - strong, silent, gentlemanly, etc. but life has thrown him a big, huge curve and suddenly he's very vulnerable! That's what makes him the perfect hero for me AND the best guy for Nora Bradford, although on paper, you probably wouldn't put the two of them together! Nora is "bookish" and retro and loves all things historical. She's into genealogy and the history of their town, even dressing NOT in the latest fashion! She has been burned badly in relationships and feels things deeply, but still, is such a giver! I loved her and her personality! John needs her for her skills to do something for him and they embark on a journey that neither one of them can imagine the outcome. There are so many twists and turns to their story that you have to just keep expecting the unexpected! I also loved Nora's family and can't wait to delve into their stories more as we get new books! Her sisters are going to be fun as we learning more about them. **I would highly recommend this book. It's fun, yet soul-searching and is a great way to begin a new series. There are so many things to take away from this book! It's excellent!

True to You by Becky Wade is a fabulous book. The story follows the love story of Nora who is bookish genealogist who owns a historical village, and former, Navy Seal John Lawson. Nora sets out to find John's birth mother, and that is where the story gets interesting. What I loved about this story was. . . . everything. I savored this story, and was sad when it ended. Becky Wade is a great storyteller and her writing is thoughtful and drew me closer to the Lord. As a parent of three children through adoption I was very pleased how well the author handled a story dealing with an adoptee's search. She was respectful to all members of the adoption triad. I definitely recommend True to You. It is the first in a series of three books about the Bradford sisters. I cannot wait for book number 2 in the series which will not be here soon enough! I was given this book by the publisher and was not required to leave a positive review.
