With great skill and empathy the author has imagined a different life for the three Bronte sisters. Perhaps one closer to what they might have imagined for themselves. And so we are presented with three characters Emily, Charlotte and Anne who despite individual differences, when combined, make a powerful force. The story travels along at a comfortable pace and there is an attention to detail and an authenticity that reveals the author's deep respect and sensitivity for the lives of women at that time and more specifically for the Bronte sisters and the literary legacy they left behind.
