About the author
Bernard Lewis was the Cleveland E. Dodge Professor of Near Eastern Studies Emeritus at Princeton University, and the author of two bestsellers, THE CRISIS OF ISLAM and WHAT WENT WRONG? A winner of the GEORGE POLK AWARD among many other distinctions, he was internationally recognised as the greatest historian of the Middle East.
