In the Community, every citizen has a purpose. Unfortunately for Galina, that purpose involved secret plans for turning her into a monster. Now, after a harrowing escape from a treacherous transformation facility, Galina's only hope for safety lies in the Kariz, a nearby desert settlement surrounded by towering fences, barbed wire, and impassable mountains.
But it's not her own safety she's worried about. Her sister still lives in the Community, and one of her fellow escapees has a dangerous, untrained reality-bending power that the facility's agents tried to kill her for.

Stephanie Flint (formerly Stephanie Bibb) graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in photography and a minor in creative writing. She merged the two interests into book cover design and photographic illustration, but she particularly enjoys writing speculative fiction. She lives with her husband, Isaac.
