About this eBook

"...[a] captivating, emotionally charged journey through America's past."--Publishers Weekly starred review on With Every Breath

Anna O'Brien leads a predictable and quiet life as a map librarian at the illustrious Library of Congress until she stumbles across the baffling mystery of a ship disappeared at sea. Thwarted in her attempts to uncover information, her determination outweighs her shyness and she turns to a dashing congressman for help.

Luke Callahan was one of the nation's most powerful congressmen before his promising career was shadowed in scandal. Eager to share in a new cause and intrigued by the winsome librarian, he joins forces with Anna to solve the mystery of the lost ship. Opposites in every way, Anna and Luke are unexpectedly drawn to each other despite the strict rules forbidding Anna from any romantic entanglements with members of Congress.

From the gilded halls of the Capitol where powerful men shape the future of the nation, to the scholarly archives of the nation's finest library, Anna and Luke are soon embroiled in secrets much bigger and more perilous than they ever imagined. Is bringing the truth to light worth risking all they've ever dreamed for their futures?

Anna O'Brien loves her orderly life. She is a map librarian for the Library of Congress. Anna has overcome some hardships and is a stronger person for it, yet she likes being in the background. When Luke Callahan needs her assistance and shows interest in her, she is not willing to jeopardize her job for his flirtations. When mystery and the navy try to shut down every question she has about the ship her father was on, she has no one else to turn to but Luke. Can they solve this mystery and keep their feelings in check? Luke Callahan has finally found a place in politics, despite his upbringing. When Anna suddenly enters his life he is afraid he will never be the same. Can he keep his temper in check or is he doomed to be like his father? Will he be able to prove to Anna his love and truthfulness? When his role in politics changes can he maintain his true honest character or is more required of him? I loved the characters in this novel. Their personalities, problems and dialogue are great. There is enough mystery, romance and history to keep you interested. If you enjoy readying that type of book you will love this one. I was given a copy of this novel by bookfun.org for my hones
