This book was not one of Kings best efforts. The events described weren't plausible and the characters unbelievable. It also took too long to tell it's story and had no memorable scenes. This book is an exercise in typing more than good storytelling using unlikely events for the sake of keeping the plot going. The central relationships all seemed forced and the plot changes contrived. I usually enjoy Kings books, even the bad ones, because of his writing style but this book was a chore to get through.

He proves why hes the King of stories with each book. He writes the relatable person with complicated emotion so well that its as though theyve been your friend for a lifetime. and with each page he can make you feel more and more as you fall deeper into the King trance!!!

About the author
Stephen King is the author of more than sixty books, all of them worldwide bestsellers. His recent work includes the short story collection You Like It Darker, Holly (a New York Times Notable Book of 2023), Fairy Tale, Billy Summers, If It Bleeds, The Institute, Elevation, The Outsider, Sleeping Beauties (cowritten with his son Owen King), and the Bill Hodges trilogy: End of Watch, Finders Keepers, and Mr. Mercedes (an Edgar Award winner for Best Novel and a television series streaming on Peacock).
