What an incredible story! I enjoyed every single word and I really dislike stories set in a dystopian America. But I couldn't help but love this one. A halfling, dragon and human, sets out in an anti-shifter US to find her parents who disappeared several years previously. Rumor says they took a busload of shifters to freedom in Canada and vanished. She seeks out a smuggler named Colm to buy what she hopes will be the truth. He turns out to be... you guessed it, her fated mate. Their adventures are by turns horrifying, betraying, and overwhelmingly emotional. But they stubbornly persist. Kimber is a fantastic writer who makes you feel what her characters feel. Her words will make you fear, gasp with incredulity, and soar in ecstasy. Paranormal romance lovers, don't miss this one-- it's a winner!

A perfect read!! The characters are well thought out and very relatable, well besides the shifter and magic part. I appreciated the family sense in the book and loved that Cassie and Colm got their happily ever after

I love all of twists and turns this particular duo have to go through. Once I started reading I couldnot stop. My family has learned that anytime I am reading anything by K.W. I am not to be disturbed because I get so drawn into the story line for each character. I can't wait for the next installment.
