About this eBook

The ultimate secret. The ultimate agent. The President's vampire.

Zach Barrows is a cocky, ambitious White House employee until he's abruptly transferred out and partnered with Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn to protect the president.

But Cade is no ordinary civil servant. Bound 140 years ago by a special blood oath, Nathanial Cade is a vampire. On the orders of the president he defends the nation against enemies far stranger-and even more dangerous-than civilians like Zach could ever imagine.

The story starts off at a good pace, keeps the reader hooked. The story telling is similar to reading a script, fast spaced and moves from scene to scene. But after few chapters, you want the author to speed up the narration. It slows down, at places to give the reader an insight into the protagonist's mind and character, which is appreciated but becomes a speed bump at times, like the scene where Cade goes to an AA. I was expecting a more gripping story of Cade's past, as to how he became to be one of the damned, but I was disappointed. Also towards the end, the story kind of fell flat. The whole frankenstein undead monster concept was built up to be more than what it turned out to be. But writing wise, Farnsworth has done a good job. It is crisp and simple. It felt more like seeing a movie than reading a book. And I am sure, this will be made into a movie.

This guy can write! Well written and totally believable. Put paid to a lot of fallicies perpetuated by older fiction. Not to say I believe all this to be nonfiction. It's just nice to read well crafted fiction, with one foot in reality and the other in the imagination. After all shouldn't you take the mind out for walk on occasion? Looking forward to the next book.
