About this ebook

AUDIOBOOK EDITION OUT NOW

“Nanny and Grandad read stories to me and this one begins with a Magical Tree. With fairies and elves and Erin, who’s six, with a problem SO HUGE she just has to fix.”

A charming bedtime story for children from 3-8. It is a unique fairy tale that parents and grandparents can read to their little explorers, who want to go on an adventure with Bobbin and his friends.

This enchanting rhyming tale, with beautiful illustrations by the author, is perfect for young readers escaping for a moment in the magical fantasy land of fairies, elves and unicorns.

Get ready to dive into the fairy tale world of Bobbin the elf who is sent on a mission set by the Queen Fairy to find the last missing piece of a little girl’s magical jigsaw.

The question is – does Bobbin succeed in his quest?

We know that nursery rhymes are important for language acquisition and help with speech development. They also help children develop auditory skills such as discriminating between sounds and developing the ear for the music of words.

What readers are saying

Rhyming prose that is easily understood by the youngest of readers adds to the charm of this book.

This is a charming picture book for children, filled with whimsy and imagination. I was lucky enough to hear the author read it and she is a brilliant performer. Everyone was enraptured.

A magical tale that my grandchildren listened to without interruption and asked if Bobbin was going to have more adventures.

It was really easy to lose yourself in the story. Charming

A simple story for adults to read to young children, or early readers to try themselves. Packed with imaginative illustrations. Also a fun quiz at the back. I look forward to Bobbin’s next adventure

Why is he called Bobbin? - simple - it's because he keeps bobbing in and out of Fairyland where he lives and Folkland where he meets Erin's friends.

With every purchase of this book there are four FREE activity sheets available to download. These are: Colour-in Queen Fairy, The Elves' Jumbled Words, Queen Fairy's Crossword and The Magical Tree Word Search.

About the author

Born in Lancashire but now based in the Home Counties, Shelagh has always enjoyed drawing and painting. Although never pursuing this passion professionally in her principal career as a computer trainer, for the past seven years she has been a prolific full-time artist undertaking commissions in a wide range of subjects. As a child, Shelagh was a keen reader of fantasy-themed books, so it’s no surprise the first book she has written is in this genre.

Bobbin and the Magical Jigsaw is the start of her journey in the author and illustrator world and this picture book is a tale of escapism in the wonderful, magical land of fairies, folk and fantasies.
