About the author

Charlie Human is a writer from Cape Town. His novels Apocalypse Now Now and Kill Baxter have been published in nine countries, including the US, UK, Japan and Germany, and, along with Ancestral, have been optioned for film. Charlie was on the Mail & Guardian’s list of 200 South Africans shaping the future; he has worked with the Shuttleworth Foundation to write cellphone novels for young readers in rural areas, and with Project Isizwe to develop content distributed on free Wi-Fi networks. His interests include urban mythology, martial arts and technology.
