Bonnie Hinman, a writer for over thirty years, particularly enjoys writing about the colonial period in our country’s history. William Penn played a big role in the founding of America. Bonnie graduated from Missouri State University and has taught creative writing at Crowder College. Her books for Mitchell Lane Publishers include Florence Nightingale and the Advancement of Nursing, The Life and Times of William Penn, and Pennsylvania: William Penn and the City of Brotherly Love. Her book A Stranger in His Own House: The Story of W.E.B. Du Bois (Morgan Reynolds) was chosen for the 2006 New York Public Library’s Books for the Teen Age. She lives in Joplin, Missouri, with her husband, Bill, two cats, and three dogs.
