Not having been adopted (or even been close to anyone that I knew was adopted) it is hard to imagine what kind of questions Cora has about herself. To finally be able to put that restlessness behind her is a temptation she can't pass up. Eli comes from kinda the opposite point - he knows where he came from, it just isn't a happy place. Their pasts have left both of them with some baggage that they have to figure out how to handle. Baggage that is only complicated when they start to fall for each other, thanks to their ties to Aiyana. This is not the first of Novak's books I've read ... and it DEFINITELY won't be the last. I love how she somehow makes Finding Our Forever real and pretty drama-free, but still engrossing. There is so much growth and discovery for both Cora and Elijah and yet when everything comes to a head they don't let things overwhelm them. It would have been so easy for Novak to have them weighted down with hurt feelings and damaged pride, but instead they handle things with grace and sensitivity. There are so many possible options for where to go with future books and, as a fan of damaged heroes, I'm looking forward to all the possibilities! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. An awesome start to a new series set in the small town of Silver Springs in California. Cora, has begun a new job as an art teacher at a boy's ranch where her birth mother, Aiyana is the owner. She has taken the job only to get to know her birth mother and not to open her heart to Elijah, Aiyanna's adopted son and the ranch manager. Elijah, does not do forever, he is afraid to open his heart to hurt again. Cora is holding out her secret from Elijah and Aiyanna. This is a story full of emotional passion, secrets and turmoil that will keep you turning the pages. Loved every bit of it. Great characters, each with trust issues but deserve their HEA. I can't wait to read more in this series.

Cora Kelly knows she was adopted, and loves her life, but was always curious about her birth parents. Now as an adult she has decided to hire someone to help her investigate who they are. The search uncovers that Aiyana Turner, owner of the New Horizons Boys Ranch is her birth mom and they just happen to have a position for a new art teacher open. Cora applies and gets the job. Now she can interact with her birth mom. What she didn't expect to find was Aiyana's adopted son, Eli. Wow, these two were pure electricity together! HOT-HOT-HOT! Cora is first hesitant to start up anything with Eli because of who he is but she can't help herself. Eli doesn't tend to do relationships either but he is just drawn to Cora. I adored these two. They each provided something the other was missing in their lives. I loved how vulnerable Eli was in regards to Cora. For such a walled off type of guy, Cora quickly broke down that wall! As Cora and Eli continue their relationship, Cora gets to know Aiyana and really likes her. Just when things are going well, Cora's ex, Matt shows up to shake things up a bit. I really liked the honest discussion that Cora finally had with her parents....it was so heartfelt. Cora gets the best Christmas surprise from Eli and from there things get really interesting. I loved how the story ended. It was truly a perfect ending. Overall, I loved this book....read it in a day and a half because I couldn't put it down! Great start to this new series and I can't wait for the next book!
