About this ebook

Her Darkest Nightmare, first in an electrifying series from New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak

THE HUNT FOR A SERIAL KILLER

Evelyn Talbot knows that a psychopath can look perfectly normal. She was only sixteen when her own boyfriend Jasper imprisoned and tortured her—and left her for dead. Now an eminent psychiatrist who specializes in the criminal mind, Evelyn is the force behind Hanover House, a maximum-security facility located in a small Alaskan town. Her job puts her at odds with Sergeant Amarok, who is convinced that Hanover is a threat to his community...even as his attraction to beautiful Evelyn threatens to tear his world apart.

BEGINS WITH AN ESCAPE FROM HER PAST

Then, just as the bitter Alaskan winter cuts both town and prison off from the outside world, the mutilated body of a local woman turns up. For Amarok, this is the final proof he needs: Hanover has to go. Evelyn, though, has reason to fear that the crime is a personal message to her—the first sign that the killer who haunts her dreams has found her again. . .and that the life she has so carefully rebuilt will never be the same...

“Brenda Novak's seamless plotting, emotional intensity, and true-to-life characters...make her books completely satisfying.”—New York Times bestselling author Allison Brennan

It seems like forever ago that we first met Evelyn Talbot in Hanover House but finally we get the first full story in the series! The thrills and suspense continues as does the relationship between Evelyn and Amarok. The slow easy build of this relationship is perfect. Considering everything Evelyn has gone through anything else wouldn't have worked. Evelyn and Amarok are still at odds over Hanover house though. Amarok thinks the facility is bad for his community and that belief is confirmed when a woman's body is discovered. Evelyn fears it isn't so much Hanover house but her own past catching up with her. This is a highly suspenseful mystery with twists and turns that keep you guessing. And the ending - wow. Still have goosebumps! I definitely recommend this one.

An intense psychological thriller that will keep you turning the pages. Many twists and turns of who done it. Evelyn has a past that always keeps her on guard and now to be the psychologist at Hanover House, keeps her always looking over her back. Now when two of her friends are murdered, she is a little more than nervous. Love Amarok, the town trooper, who has the hots for Evelyn. Love how he is so patient with her. Brenda must have done a lot of research and it shows in her story telling, I stayed up way late reading this book. I highly recommend this book!!

LOVED it! Just discovered Brenda Novak's books and am hooked. I couldn't put down Hanover House and was thrilled to start this one. I am now 3/4 through this book and am excited to find out who the killer is, but will be sad when it's over. Looking forward to reading more from this series. Also, heard that there will be a movie based on this series from the author herself in her book group.
