Found myself bound to this book, reading when I could. Found it fast paced, good characters and all neatly put into the storyline. Ready for the next book in the powder mage trilogy.

A bit or fit what you get, but well written. Not a fan of the magic structure - a very American, idiotic, and somewhat unbelievable idolization of guns.

Nice worldbuilding but the writing has no charm or elegance. Short sentences might appeal to those with even shorter attention spans but I couldn't finish it.
