This gripping series continues in book 3 and does NOT disappoint. After the terrifying events on Terra and Erra, Alora now finds herself in Rra, a world of shifters. She only has days to figure out how to save them all, at the same time battling enemies on Earth. I cannot wait to see where this goes in the finale!

If you love stargate, hunger games, and/or divergent, you are going to love this series. If you haven't read the first 2 books in this series, STOP! go read them. Once you start, you won't be able to put them down. I finished book 2 Adrift and immediately started Awoken. I read about half the book before forcing myself to got to bed. At 3 am. Bridget Baker has woven 5 different worlds together in an incredible way. Ancient Egypt, Alexander the Great, love triangles, sibling loyalty, and great character development, this series has it all! I think one of the things I love the most is Alora's refusal to be dictated the sexual attraction she feels. Most books and movies now days has young adults solely lead by their feelings. This is a refreshing way to have all the romance without taking away for the story. Also, seeing the characters grow pulls you in and makes you feel like you're a part of the story. I can't wait for the final book to come out.

I was eagerly awaiting this release, like the way you start drooling when you walk by Cinnabon and can smell that coma-inducing sugary dough goodness. I was ready for it as soon as I read the last line of Adrift! Well, Awoken did not disappoint. I had to read it in one day, just could not put it down! I love how Alora spends even more time in her dreams as her first self, AKA Sekhmet. So much Egyptian history and lore, and new characters from that time period. Alora is feisty and fierce no matter which world and time she is in, which lands her in all kinds of trouble. It’s hard to be the expected savior of the world, over and over. She didn’t ask for that title and doesn’t want the responsibility. She has a good heart and loves her brother, Jesse, with all she has. Every action she takes is to save him, but will it be enough? Will anything she does ever be enough? She is still confused on the boyfriend situation, in all the worlds, but the story is inching closer to explaining what is going on with the Exordium and why she is so drawn to a certain man who keeps showing up. The last line of Awoken is, “I’m guessing things are about to get really, really interesting.” There is a fourth book to come this fall and I am already flipping through the calendar to count the days!

About the author

Bridget’s a lawyer, but does as little legal work as possible. She has five kids and soooo many animals that she loses count.

Horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, and so many chickens. Animals are her great love, after the hubby, the kids, and the books.

She makes cookies waaaaay too often and believes they should be their own food group. In a (possibly misguided) attempt at balancing the scales, she kickboxes daily. So if you don’t like her books, maybe don’t tell her in person.

Bridget is active on social media, and has a facebook group she comments in often. (Her husband even gets on there sometimes.) Please feel free to join her there: https://www.facebook.com/groups/750807222376182
