I have the hard copy of the book and it is so detailed and understandable. The book also has coloured pictures and how to identify them this book made my life so easy Thanks Erin whiteway FYI I am only 14 years old and I understand how great it is

About the author

Bruce Cairncross is Professor of Geology at the University of Johannesburg. He has a special interest in documenting and preserving southern Africa’s mineralogical heritage, and is the author or co-author of a number of books, including Field Guide to Rocks & Minerals of Southern Africa and Minerals & Gemstones of East Africa.
