BRUCE SAUNDERS has been on the faculty at Berklee College of Music since 1993. He teaches
some classes and private lessons there and tries to avoid confrontation, not always successfully. He has
performed worldwide on a lot of small stages, has a bunch of CDs under his own name which few people
have heard, has taught at other colleges in the NYC and Austin areas, done a mess of clinics in a lot of
places (he doesn’t use the adjective “mess” lightly), owns too much guitar and music related hardware
and software. Trying to find something interesting here...He runs a lot if possible, spends a lot of time
using mass transit his least favorite mode of which is the airplane. At press time he conservatively logs
about 1,000 mass transit hours per year which is equal to approximately one million of what he terms
“agony hours.” Happy times. He drinks a lot of espresso (among other things), is lucky enough to have
some incredible friends who are also incredible musicians, is very happily married (most of the time),
presently drives an old car, used to surf and wasn’t cool even then, especially after the surfboard hit him
in the face when he could not acknowledge the fact that he was to old and feeble to be out surfing in even
a miserably small swell. He currently divides his time between Austin, TX, Boston, MA and New York, NY.
What is most interesting about this guy is that he really likes to teach and feels he learns more from
his students than they do from him. If you have nothing better to do you can learn more about this
astoundingly boring person at:
