Nice Collection of Offbeat Paranormal Romances The title says novella and is that ever right! There are six books in this collection, and the anthology weighs in at just over 700 pages. That means that each novella is only a little over 100 pages on average. But the first novella, which I thoroughly enjoyed, actually took up nearly 20% of the book! So, that made the rest of the novellas pretty short, allowing them to be easily read in a short amount of time. As in any anthology, the story quality seemed variable, though I did enjoy all to some extent. The author has a great way of injecting humor into a story, even when the subject is at times serious. As suggested by the series title, all of these have either a touch of the paranormal or are fully vested in it. We have a ghost love story, there is a medium story, and there are even two stories that revolve around governmental agencies (the FBI and DEA) with a little witness protection and drug smuggling to make it interesting. I found myself particularly charmed by the first story, which has one of the best first lines I've seen lately: “A person can only die once, and Sadie had met her quota for the day.” It made me laugh and wonder what else the author had in store for me. If you enjoy paranormal romances—especially a variety of types—you may very well enjoy this series. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

I enjoyed all of the "Romancing the Spirit" stories. They are fairly quick reads that was very captivating and intriguing. I enjoyed the plots and love the characters. They are all different and fairly fast paced story with a bit of paranormal and interesting twists. Heartwarming and well written stories. Cassie's Chase - The plot is intriguing and suspenseful. I love Cassie and Reed! What a story and what a touching twist on WIC. Phoebe's Pharaoh - Phoebe and Oz; what an adventure these two have. Both set out with their owns purposes in mind and find so much more than they anticipated. Vanessa's Valentine - Vanessa is a doctor. Seth is a DEA agent whose cover has been blown and now is on the run. He drops into her life and it's instant attraction. This is an intense story with danger, action and great twists. Autumn's Angel - It's a fairly fast paced story that starts off with a bang. Devlin and Joy are great! Carol's Christmas - A good twist on a great classic. Carol isn't exactly Scrooge but I did like how her story developed with Liam. He brought her warmth and love. This was a nice surprise. Alison's Alibi - Allison and Cash are great. I love how the story develops as well as the mystery, suspense and romance. *I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.*

Romancing the Spirit Series is a paranormal romantic suspense collection of six novellas that includes Sadie's Spirit, Willow's Windfall, Cassie's Chase, Phoebe's Pharaoh, Vanessa's Valentine, and Autumn's Angel. This is a terrific weekend binge-read of novellas that have strong characters, entertaining storylines, danger, suspense, ghosts, and romance. About the author

Christina is a four-time award winning author in thriller, romantic suspense, and fantasy.

She is a mother of two energetic boys and a Jack Russel Terrier. She is a lover of suspense, adventure, and happy endings. Her romantic suspense novellas (with a hint of paranormal) are at 14 completed works, and she's mapping out more. She writes action and adventure in fantasy and romantic suspense genres with strong female leads.

“I grew up reading Tom Clancy, Michael Crichton, and the Bourne books. I write seeking to create that level of action and intrigue but with female heroines. I love the quote, ‘She needed a hero. So she became one.’ My novels have empowered women overcoming powerful obstacles and the strong men who support them.”
