I love cozy mysteries! And this was a really good one. A woman coming into her witch powers has been "blackmailed" into relocating to a small town and assuming ownership of her mother's potion shop. She uses observation and logic to assist the swoon-worthy police detective in solving a local murder. The author has the tongue-in- cheek tone of a good cozy down pat, and lovable, if flawed, characters fill the story, including a snarky familiar. This novel is a great way to kill a few hours before bed. I highly recommend it.

Jess steps in to help when a dead body turns up on animal-lover Daphne's farm. The police seem to have done a poor job of searching the crime scene and obviously need help whether they like it or not. Can Jess help solve the murder and clear Daphne's name while also doing her part in her mother's potions and lotions shop? This witchy mystery has plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat as you try to solve the crime alongside Jess and her friends.

I read this book in one day. It's that good. Jessica is a great character and she is snarky in a good way. I would recommend this book to anyone.
