I really enjoyed this, except I found it hard to get really deep into, due to the time flaws. It's oddly set in 2007 but includes names of songs, that were not released until years later, makes references to snapchat and vaping which is not possible in 07. Had the book been set in 2017 it would of made perfect sense. Great book but very flawed.

Before reading this book I honestly thought I already had a favourite C L Taylor book, but I have to say this is my new favourite. I’ve read every book she’s written to date, wasn’t quite as fond as The Missing but The Fear was unputdownable. From the first page to the last I just had to keep going, I couldn’t put it down each chapter left you wanting more. There were some points in the book where I thought “I know where she’s going with this” but then there would be another twist and it just kept me wanting more. For anyone who’s not read a C L Taylor book, it doesn’t matter which order you read them in (they are all stand alone books) but you are in for a treat. Pick a book, settle down and engross yourself in a real get away.

I was fortunate enough to receive a proof copy of The Fear and my my my.... The anticipated wait was not for nothing! As with all of C.L Taylor's physiological thrillers you are captivated within the first chapter, you can not simply put the book down, I was to be engrossed yet again! The storyline - again - cleverly written even to the final chapter when another unexpected plot twist finishes the whole novel off perfectly! Sad to have finished it so quickly, can't wait for the next C.L Taylor instalment!!
