Cancer Grading Manual addresses all histopathologic aspects of tumor pathology essential for grading of tumors. It discusses the history and basic tenets of tumor grading; principles of microscopic grading of tumors; ancillary methods currently used to improve tumor grading; and new techniques used in evaluating tumors and formulating prognosis. It is designed to be a practice-oriented, concise and well-illustrated resource for diagnostic surgical pathologists and pathology residents.

The manual is organized by specific organ systems. Each chapter begins with an introduction and describes in detail the optimal and most widely used system for grading common tumors.

Ivan Damjanov, MD, PhD is Professor of Pathology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Extremely well-regarded in the field, Dr. Damjanov serves as book review editor for Modern Pathology and is a member of the editorial review group for Doody’s. He has written dozens of journal articles and book chapters, and has edited/authored a number of books, including, Anderson Pathology, 10th edition (Mosby, 1996), High-Yield Pathology (LWW, 2001), Pathology for the Health-Related Professions (Saunders, 2000), Histopathology: A Color Atlas and Textbook (LWW, 1996), Review of Pathology (LWW, 2000), to name a few. Thus, Dr. Damjanov understands what it takes to produce a high-quality publication, how to deal with multiple contributors and the importance of bringing the project in on-time and on-budget.
