About this ebook

A page-turning historical romance from New York Times bestselling author Candace Camp.

In the late 1600s, Maggie Verrere was betrothed to Sir Edric Neville in an effort to unite their two families. Instead, she eloped to America with another man, and the famed Spanish dowry vanished along with her. The two families—the Verreres and the Nevilles—have hated one another ever since.

Now, 150 years later, another Verrere woman seeks the dowry. Cassandra Verrere has no hope of providing a future for her younger siblings, or for herself, unless she recovers the treasure. Unfortunately, to get it, she needs the help of a Neville—the disarming Sir Philip. With an ancient feud marking their lineage, Cassandra cannot imagine trusting him. But the true challenge may be in trusting her heart not to fall for him.

Impetuous by Candace Camp is a captivating story of an ancient hatred, steamy love, and buried treasure. Camp grabbed my attention from the first chapter and held it until the end. My only complaint is that the date of the setting is vague. The hero refers to Florence Nightingale, who lived from 1820-1910 and did her nursing work during the Crimean War in 1854. So clearly, this story takes place in the late 1800s during the Victorian Era. I just wish Camp had made that aspect of the story clearer. There are several steamy sex scenes. The story has a few unexpected twists and turns. I wholeheartedly recommend this book. I was gifted a copy of this book.
