SG P
What a sweet, sweet book. Ok, the whole thing was not so sweet, the way SOME people acted so badly. But the way Candice Hern brought it all together, the way she described the characters - their thoughts, their hearts - was definitely sweet. I look forward to reading another one of her books.

it was a harsh time in Englandwhen hanging, drawing and quartering were still lawful punishment for criminals. With the horrors of two of the most grusomme of battles in the peninsular wars as a shadowy background the characters are skilfully and realistically drawn. Set in old Cornwall l loved the realism invoked by the dialogue, the settings the characters and the bitter sweet love story. One of Miss Herns best!
