Amber James was born in 1983 in Melbourne, Australia. She grew up surrounded by surfers and the finest waves in the world, but ever since she was a teenager, this true romantic set her sights on literature. She went on to study modern literature and became a teacher while continuing to write short stories. During a language exchange in California she met her future husband, originally from Beverly Hills, who was the first person to read her stories.
