have to admit, thought this one was going to be a DNF. Surprisingly though, it had just enough to keep me going, through what i felt was sadly predictable, and ended up being anything but! it was different. Quite. which is not something I can say often enough. And by far it's highest accolade, being so because it rarely is so, was that the big reveal, or final battle, if you will, wasn't a handful of pages at stories end. it was almost a good quarter of the book, which was enjoyed thoroughly. All in, a good read. Slow and a little repetitive at times, but its merits outweighed its deficits. I will definitely give the authors next book a read.

At first I was able to put the book down a couple of times, because life happens, but half way through I had to finish it. I could see this story as a movie, with an unexpected ending. Wow.

About the author
Carissa Orlando has a doctorate in clinical-community psychology and specializes in work with children and adolescents. In her “day job,” Carissa works to improve the quality of and access to mental health care for children and their families. Prior to her career in psychology, Carissa studied creative writing in college and has written creatively in some form since she was a child. It was only a matter of time before Carissa, an avid horror fan for much of her life, merged her understanding of the human psyche and deep love for storytelling into a piece of fiction.
