About this ebook

He’s the bad boy of baseball who’s about to lose everything.

She needs a husband to get custody of her teenage sister.

Suddenly a marriage of convenience doesn’t look so bad.

Pitcher, Jaxon Prescott has a lot on his plate. Major League Baseball. Reputation as a player. And now? He’s on the verge of losing it all. He didn’t mean to sleep with his general manager’s daughter or get into a brawl that was captured on camera. But his notoriety is a problem and everything he's worked for is at risk.

What’s a bad boy to do? Marry his sister's best friend to save his career, even if it’s the opposite of everything he wants and believes in.

Macy Walker is the sole guardian of her half-sister until the girl’s mother returns and wants her daughter back. In order to win custody, Macy needs to provide stability and marrying someone would do the trick. Luckily for her, her best friend’s brother needs a wife.

They're this close to getting exactly what they want - as long as they don't fall in love.

4.25⭐ Dare to Play book three in Carly Phillips Dare Nation series, was another fast-paced and welcoming addition. With baseball player and ladies man Jaxon Prescott taking centre stage, and after causing yet another headache for his manager Bri and agent Austin, who also happen to be his sister and brother Jaxon has the crazy idea to marry his sisters closest friend Macy who desperately needs Jaxon's help after her step mother returns ready for a custody battle over her fifteen-year-old half sister Hannah. And what starts as a mutual deal to help each other out of a sticky situation quickly becomes more, as Jaxon realises his brother was right, and there is such a thing as love at first sight. Which made Dare to Play a quick, fun, sexy and at times emotional read; and honestly by far my favourite of the series. As Ms Phillips really struck a chord with the history of these two characters, the connection they shared, and the romance which easily had me turning the pages. Would happily recommend. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via BookSprout in exchange for an honest review**

Jaxon and Macy’s love story in Dare to Play, book three in the Dare Nation series by Carly Phillips hits it out of the ballpark. Ms. Phillips again gives us an alpha hero, a baseball player, player being the key word as he can’t seem to keep it in his pants, who is in trouble with his team management due to his immature behavior. We also have a strong, diligent, and decisive heroine who is determined to protect her half-sister after their dad died. This breathtakingly beautiful love story contains so many feelings and responsibilities, family, attraction, off the charts sizzling chemistry, inner turmoil, and lots of steamy scenes. Maybe a marriage of convenience is the best solution for both Jaxon and Macy. Jaxon needs to prove he can be responsible and what’s more responsible than a wife and guardian of a teen. It might even get the paparazzi off his tail. Macy needs to prove she’s the better, more responsible parent for her half-sister, Hannah, than the girl’s mother who left for years, signing her parental rights off to her ex-husband. Marrying her best friend’s brother would provide the stability she needed for proof and could help her with raising Hannah. What neither Jaxon nor Macy expected was the sizzling chemistry or to fall in love. Ms. Phillips wrote a wonderful, emotional and sizzling story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, amusing banter, and charming secondary characters giving Jaxon and Macy a chance for happiness, love and a future together. I highly recommend Dare to Play to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Macy Walker has sole custody of her fifteen year old half-sister, Hannah, after their dad passed away eight months ago. When Hannah's mom, Lilah, comes back claiming to want custody, Macy knows something is up and will fight hard to keep her sister. Jaxon Prescott may be the star pitcher for the Miami Eagles but his off the field playboy persona keeps getting him in trouble. His next step out of line could result in him getting traded. Jaxon makes Macy and offer she can't refuse.....let's get married! It will have to be a real marriage and then after enough time they can have it annulled. This will help both of their immediate problems. Now if they can only they can keep their hearts out of the deal. Of course the more time Macy and Jaxon spend together, the more real their marriage gets until they both realize that they really don't want their marriage to end. Between dealing with a 15 year old teenager, a crazy step-mother, and the large Prescott/Dare family Macy and Jaxon have their hands full but in the long run, true love wins! I really enjoyed this story. Marriages of convenience are always a fun trope to read. Jaxon is the typical playboy who doesn't want to settle down because of things from his past but now that he has found the right girl, he is singing a different tune! Macy is a hard working, selfless heroine who only wants what is best for her sister and in providing just that, she finds true love. Overall this was an entertaining and wonderful story.
