About this ebook

' Oh, you're not crazy, Denise. I think this is probably the sanest you've ever been...'
Two women. An open road. The trip of a lifetime.
Thea is confident, sorted, determined to have fun, but there are sorrows beneath the surface of her life.
Denise is struggling under the weight of her many commitments and in desperate need of some excitement.
When these polar opposites meet, and unexpectedly become friends, they realise they're both looking to escape.
So begins a road trip that leads them far from home and yet closer to their true selves.
But they can't outrun their pasts forever and when things start to become complicated, both women have an important decision to make. Do they give up or keep going? Turn around or drive on?

I thought the cover of this book was absolutely lovely and having read the initial chapters I was looking forward to reading it. Thea and Denise tells a story of female friendship and taking back your own life. Two women meet at a difficult point in life and proceed to form a quick and steady friendship. As Thea and Denise take on the road trip of a lifetime they quickly go through many highs and lows.

The theme of escapism will be something that resonates with much of the novel's target audience, and (apart from a couple of chapters at the beginning where there's too much description and not enough dialogue) it's written in an accessible way with relatively brief chapters that keep things moving along, but there were one or two predictable sections where, just when it looks like she would go back to her family, you could tell that Denise would decide to carry on with the journey Thea started.
