LOVED this book! Actually, I love the whole series, but this is the best book yet. Juliet manages a coffee shop that her best friend, Pete, owns. Juliet is dating a police detective, Ryder. Juliet and Ryder have had their ups and downs, usually relating to Juliet sticking her nose into a police investigation. When a coffee shop employee goes missing, Juliet quickly helps organize a search and starts asking questions. Before long, she is once again in the thick of an investigation. What follows is a wonderful book that had me turning pages just as quickly as possible. This has it all - a compelling mystery, humor, and characters I cared about. This is a must read for fans of the genre. While it is part of a series, it is a stand alone novel. It's so good, though, that you really owe to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

A Whole Latte Murder By Caroline Fardig A cozy mystery with a female lead. Complex, likeable and clever is Juliet. A failed country and western singer, Juliet manages an eatery called the Java Jive. Her boss, Peter, a luv interest cum fellow amateur slueth, is her boss. One night Juliet arrives home to find her neighbor murdered/suicide and soon after her barista also goes missing and there is a feeling they are connected. Juliet has been warned off sticking her nose into police matters, but fate has other ideas. This was an easy read with the odd twist along the way. The baddie was a surprise to me, but then I'm pretty thick when it comes to guessing who dunnit. I found the motive for the murders a little thin, but I enjoyed the book.
