Misleading Miss Verity

Miss Verity's story is the last book in the Regency Brides: Daughters of Aynsley series and is best read in order, but can also be enjoyed as a standalone. Miss Verity Hatherleigh is known for her reputation of getting into scrapes and for her straightforward manner. When her parents have had enough of her behavior that they deem unacceptable, she is sent to her grandmother's house to think about her behavior and prepare herself for marriage. When Verity's parents choose a repugnant man for her to marry because of his rank and title in society, her grandmother sends her away to spend time in Scotland with her friend Helena Chisholm. While Verity is there, she meets a kind and charming man named Anthony Jardine, who has just recently returned home from Australia, where he was a minister. Unbeknownst to Verity, Anthony is the laird of Dungally Castle. They soon form a close friendship that quickly becomes more, but will there be too many obstacles in the way of their happiness? Just like all of Carolyn Miller's books, I enjoyed Verity's story very much. As always, Carolyn Miller's writing was realistic and engaging to the point where I felt like I was there in the story. Her unapologetic adherence to biblical truth once again was an encouragement and a conviction. Verity was one of my favorite characters in her books so far. Verity's bright and adventurous personality coupled with her brave and indomitable spirit made her a joy to read about. Her intelligence and wits had a tendency to get her in trouble, but also to get her out of it. Personally, I hope that I could be as brave and quick thinking as Verity in difficult situations. I sympathized very much with her sense of justice and her desire to make things right. Anthony was a very sweet man, if a little too hesitant, and I only wish there were more real men like him. I was thrilled with Verity's unabashed insistence that men and women are equal in the sight of God and that even though we have different roles, one is not more valuable than the other. Unfortunately, there are still people today who believe one gender is inferior to the other (it could go both ways). God's love and mercy extend to all people, no matter what. Overall, I highly recommend this book and Carolyn Miller's other books as well. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and publisher. I absolutely loved Misleading Miss Verity by Carolyn Miller. It is the third book in her Regency Brides: Daughters of Aynsley and you definitely don't want to miss it if you love reading inspirational Regency romances. Verity Hatherleigh is a strong willed young woman who has a mind of her own and the tendency to find trouble even without looking for it. Her family doesn't seem to understand her and always seems to make her feel like she is more of a bother than anything else. Anthony Jardine has recently inherited the title and duties that go along with being the laird of Dungally. Many of his duties when dealing with the landlords can be extremely difficult rather than a blessing, but he has found that he is enjoying the company of some of his neighbors quite a bit along with their house guest Verity, who he is falling in love with. However their relationship so far is based on half truths and when they come out, it not only hurts them, but others also. I'm sad to see this series ending, but I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books by Carolyn Miller in the future.

This is hands down my favorite book by this author, and I have read everything she has written! This story has been catching my attention for many books now. The exciting and up to no good Miss Verity has been making waves in the background, so I couldn't have been more excited to read her very own story! It did not disappoint one bit! I loved hearing about her at school making friends, but I wasn't expecting this story to head to Scotland! I love reading stories in Scotland, so that was another bonus! Anthony was the perfect character to come along and sweep Verity away! I loved his story! I really enjoyed getting to know Helena and all of her family as well. This story felt more in depth, and the characters were all well formed and easy to love. I would recommend this book to absolutely everyone! I couldn't put it down! I was given this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.
