This one wants to fulfill the dream stolen from her—
but she needs Vivien's help.
Vivien and family have moved to Texas where her father is stationed at Ft. Hood. While hiking, she stumbles over a grave marker for a girl her own age named Florence Macartan, who died in 1910. An old newspaper article reports that Florence died while competing in a chess tournament. The men she competed against were angry, especially when it seemed she might win—and she died under suspicious circumstances before she could triumph. Given her past adventures, Vivien is unsurprised when Florence's ghost needs her help to play one final game. But Vivien knows from experience that interfering with the denizens of the afterlife is always dangerous...and sometimes deadly.
