The Douay–Rheims Bible (abbreviated as D–R and DV) is a translation of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate into English made by members of the English College, Douai, in the service of the Catholic Church. The New Testament portion was published in Reims, France, in 1582. The Old Testament portion was published in two volumes thirty years later by the University of Douai. This translation was replaced by a revision undertaken by bishop Richard Challoner; the New Testament in 1749; the Old Testament in 1750. The Challoner revision of the Douay–Rheims is still often the Bible of choice of more traditional English-speaking Catholics.

I like the format, but so far I noticed an error, Genesis 3:22 has part of the verse cut off at the end of the page. Can this be fixed?

This is a good ebook copy of the Douay-Rheims Translation. The data compression is good and will not require much storage to download. The accuracy of the translation is the very best for remaining true to the Original Latin Vulgate translated by St. Jerome, and considered to be the most accurate translation from the original texts. The Douay-Rheims is the most accurate translation of The Holy Bible available in the English language. To address the concerns of previous reviewers: Some of the names appear differently than they do in newer translations, such as: "Noe" for "Noah", as noted by a previous reviewer: This is not a typo, but rather, remaining true to the original text of this translation, uses older transliterations of the names from the original languages to English that were in use at the time of original publication of the translation. The verse at Genesis 3:22 is not cut off as noted by a previous reviewer: Because it stays true to the original text as much as possible, it seems like an incomplete sentence at the end of verse 22, however it is resolved in the next verses. Bear in mind that the original texts didn't have verse numbers, and numbering was introduced at a much later date, so it's always good to read any given verse in context with surrounding verses. I highly recommend this ebook version of the Douay-Rheims Bible!

Just started reading this and have found quite a few errors. You don't even get to deep into Genesis when you come across Noe. That is the name given to Noah. If you are looking for a good catholic bible version pass on this one
