4.25⭐ This was such a fun, quirky, entertaining, easy, and fresh read. That was not only packed full of wonderfully charming characters, but animals that had so much personality that I couldn't help but smile every time one was mentioned from Barack O'llama, to Capone and not forgetting Cluck Norris. They all helped to make this story a joy to read. As did the romance between Jay and Alyson which was equal parts sweet and steamy. And honestly, I was completely captivated throughout, and I genuinely hope Ms Fox writes more about these delightful Nova Scotian farmers and their friends in the future. Would happily recommend. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review**

Alyson and Jay were a lot of fun right from the start! This smart, sexy and witty rom com had me buzzing with excitement from the first rooster crow. The chemistry between Alyson and Jay palpitates off the pages and you can’t help but be drawn in by it. When they finally give in, wowza, the heat is off the charts. But these two also connect on an emotional level and let go some old hurts once they learn to trust again. All of this tied up with a small town in rural Nova Scotia, and the hijinks that go with small towns, and meddling family, and animals, made this maritimer a very happy reader <3

Fabulous. Alyson is full of surprises but what I love best is her determination and strength even when she doubts herself. She is floundering, not really sure what she wants to do with her life and struggling to make a commitment. When she suddenly inherits a farm from an Uncle she never knew, well, she takes this as a challenge to see if she can run the farm. Meeting Jay, the farmer from next door, happens in a funny and frightening way but sets off a great connection between the two. Jay always knew he would be a farmer and is passionate about what he does. Helping the new owner next door is just part of daily life and having it be Alyson does crazy things to his heart. Of course, he really doesn’t expect a city girl to last on the farm and makes a rash decision. As Alyson works to learn all she can to run the farm, Jay is right there to support her and these two find that they have more in common than they realize. But what happens when Alyson finds out Jay doubted her? This was a wonderful story and I had fun experiencing farm life through Alyson’s eyes. Jay and his brothers are great teachers for her as Alyson not only finds a purpose, but she also finds a family.
