About the author
One of America’s most powerful evangelists, Charles G. Finney was greatly used by God. Between 1827 and 1832, this Spirit-filled Presbyterian minister’s revivals swept many cities, including New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Rochester. In 1835 he became professor of theology at the newly formed Oberlin Collegiate Institute in Ohio (Oberlin College), which he also served as president from 1851 to 1866. He was a strong advocate of social reform, especially anti-slavery and temperance, and died in 1875.
