About the author

Charlotte Douglas began her writing career as a reporter for a Florida newspaper and draws on her experiences as teacher, actress, journalist, church musician–and even a short stint with her husband as a Forest Service lookout in Northwest Montana–for many of her plots and characters. Charlotte learned to read at age three, and from that time on, books have fascinated her. It was inevitable, she says, that she would someday write her own stories. She now has over a dozen novels in print with five more to be released within the next twelve months. Charlotte's' first novels were historical gothics set in Florida. She has also written contemporary mainstream suspense and Harlequin Intrigues. In a lighter vein, she writes Harlequin American Romances. Charlotte Douglas was born in North Carolina and moved to Florida when she was a child. She earned her undergraduate degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and did graduate work in English Literature at the University of South Florida in Tampa. For over seventeen years, she taught English, speech, and drama at the secondary and college level. Today she writes full-time and lives in Dunedin with her husband Bill, executive director of the National Armed Services and Law Enforcement Memorial Museum, and their two cairn terriers. Charlotte also has a 2002 release from Pocket Books.
