CHASE AFTER ME is the ninth instalment in Cynthia Eden’s contemporary, adult WILDE WAYS romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Wilde Ways Security. Wilde Ways has been tasked by the CIA to infiltrate and uncover the truth about CIA Digital Forensic Engineer Vivian Wayne. Vivian Wayne is suspected of stealing CIA personnel files but having met our story line heroine Chase Durant suspects Vivian is about to take the fall for someone else. When Vivian becomes the target of an unknown enemy, Chase places himself in the direct line of fire to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love. What ensues is the building but forbidden relationship between Chase and Vivian, and the potential fall-out as the people involved go much deeper than anyone could have expected. Chase Durant knows to get involved with his latest target could mean the end of his security career but something about Vivian draws Chase like a moth to a flame including the ‘sense’ that Vivian is not the enemy. Vivian Wayne is on leave from the CIA but our heroine begins to suspect that Chase is more than her new next door neighbor when a series of events involving Chase and his partner Merik begins to spiral out of control. The relationship between Vivian and Chase is one of immediate attraction but Vivian is Chase’s target, his assignment. The sexual tension is raw; the $ex scenes are spicy and seductive without the use of over the top,sexually graphic language and text. We are introduced to Wilde Ways owner Erik Wilde, Chase’s friends and fellow Wilde Ways employees Lacey Amari , and Merik Stone; CIA operative and investigator Dex Ryan, and building maintenance manager Jacob Webb. CHASE AFTER ME is a spirited story of betrayal, secrets, lies, power and control. The character driven premise is inviting; the characters are sassy, flirty and charismatic; the romance is provocative and intense.

Five seductive, nerdy stars because I can’t hack into the system to make it ten! I couldn’t wait to really meet Chase and learn his behind the scenes mannerisms. Particularly the ones that revolve around his use of the statement, “Huh” in any given situation. He’s driven other characters crazy with it but it only endears him to Vivian. And of course, that’s when you know it’s true love. I loved the way this couple first meet and the following scenes that entail their getting to know each other. It was fresh, cute and had me grinning through it all. Chase captured my heart from the beginning when he became disgruntled that things with Vivian weren't going as planned and then I fell completely in love when his fierce protective instincts rose up accompanied by his possessiveness of Vivian. Vivian was not at all what I was expecting. She was nerdy with a tendency to ramble odd tidbits when nervous and holy heck, do I love a heroine with these characteristics. I fell as hard in love with her as I did Chase, if not more so. This is definitely filled with action and drama that is primarily from outside their relationship although there is a bit of angst from within as well. I had the best time watching this couple grow together, deal with the problems around them, and fall in love, all while surrounded by bad guys, questionable guys, friends and coworkers...many that had me chuckling at their antics and banter. Due to the action, this is a fast read and the steam level is Holy Heck Hot! I loved the twists I didn’t even see coming. Add in an ending that made my heart squeal with delight and an epilogue that has me ready for the next couple in the series, and I’m ready to turn back to the first page and read this one again!

4.25⭐ Chase After Me, book nine in the Wilde Ways Series was a great read. That was fast-paced, and packed with drama and action as Wilde agent Chase Durant is sent undercover to gain evidence that his new neighbour Vivian Wayne a CIA contractor is selling secrets. And with a great hero and a quirky heroine not to mention a sweet, sexy romance, new characters, and a twist I had not seen coming I was hooked; and I would happily recommend it to others.
