About the author

Chrös McDougall is an author, editor, and sportswriter who regularly covers soccer, as well as Olympic and Paralympic sports. Among his assignments over the years have been reporting on the first game at the new Wembley Stadium in London for the Associated Press, and covering the US women at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, for TeamUSA.org. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife, soccer-loving son and daughter, and a well-meaning boxer named Eira.
