About this ebook

A killing like no other.
A killer more twisted than he’s ever seen before.
A case that will test him to the limit.
Has Robert Hunter finally met his match?

‘Do you believe the Devil exists, Detective?’ the officer at the end of the line asks. ‘Because if you don’t . . . I’m sure you will once you get here.’

Robert Hunter is called to the most vicious crime scene he has ever attended. It is made even more disturbing when the autopsy reveals a poem, left by the killer, inside the body of their victim.

Soon, another body is found. The methods and signature of the murder differs, but the level of violence used suggests that the same person is behind both crimes. Hunter’s fears are confirmed when a second part of the poem is found.

But this discovery does more than just link the two killings – it suggests that this is the work of a serial murderer.

With no forensic evidence to go on, Robert Hunter must catch the most disciplined and systematic killer that he has ever encountered, someone who thrives on the victims' fear, and to whom death is a lesson that needs to be taught.

From #1 Sunday Times and multi-million copy bestselling author, Chris Carter, comes the most compelling and ruthless Robert Hunter thriller yet.

Outstanding book. I'm not the best reader, I often start books and have to restart them several times as I've forgotten/lost attention. This had me gripped immediately and every spare moment I had, I spent reading this. A fantastic twist towards the end which was completely unpredictable made you think the story was all but wrapped up but then it twists ever so slightly more. I love the Tom Clancy/Jack Ryan world but the Detective Hunter world may dethrone Mr Ryan.

Interesting read. Predictable, however took some interesting turns. A number of grammatical errors. Happy to read more by this author however. As long as he reads my book :-)

My love for Chris Carter's literary work started with the first book I read, Night Stalker. I've read every book in the Robert Hunter series and I have loved every book. Genesis however....wow this book hit differently. Character development is such an important part of a story and Chris never disappoints. My favorite characters are Hunter and Garcia, always! I don't condone violence in any form, but I actually felt sad for the perpetrator in this book. The themes in this book is what many people deal with in their lives and its sad what people go through and experience and I was completely immersed in this book. The way in which Chris brought this book together and the story, its phenomenal! I never thought I would ever say that I felt for what the perpetrator had been through, don't get me wrong the victims suffered too but without giving the story away man, you would be crazy not to read this book. An absolute masterpiece!
