About the author

Christine Keighery (who also writes as Chrissie Perry ) is the author of more than 35 books for children and young adults. Christine wrote 13 books in the hugely commercially successful Go Girl! series for children 6+ (Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing). These books have been published in ten countries. Her young adult title, Whisper (Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing), was shortlisted for the Children’s Book Council of Australia Awards and the WA Premiers Awards and won an International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) and a White Raven award. In 2023, she released her first novel for adults, a psychological thriller, The Half Brother (Ultimo Press).

Thalia grew up on a farm on the outskirts of Melbourne with a mum who tried to save battery hens by on-selling them as backyard chickens. Her dad worked as an industrial chemist while also growing strawberries, carrots and Christmas trees on the farm. It was common for her to find plant shoots in the freezer, or the hair dryer missing because it was needed to heat one of her dad’s experiments. Thalia's childhood showed her the magic that can happen when science and nature combine with human creativity. She has written over twenty books for children and teenagers, including the popular Go Girl! series, with many released into countries around the world. Her latest release is the Lifespan of Starlight trilogy, which was a finalist in the Sara Douglass Book Series Award.
