Diese Studie untersucht zum ersten Mal die Prozesse der institutionellen islamischen Bildung im postsowjetischen Transformationsstaat Aserbaidschan.
Vor dem Hintergrund von religionssoziologischen und jugendtheoretischen Überlegungen zeigt die qualitative Forschung, wie und warum aserbaidschanische Schüler_innen und Studierende die jeweiligen Islamkonzepte von pädagogischen Akteuren aus dem islamischen Ausland übernehmen. Dabei lässt sich exemplarisch nachvollziehen, wie islamische Religion und Religiosität in einer Zeit des gesellschaftlichen Umbruchs Bedeutung für den Einzelnen erhält.

Christine Hunner-Kreisel (Dr. phil.) lehrt Erziehungswissenschaft an der Universität Bielefeld. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Religion als Thema in der Pädagogik, (islamische) Bildung und Erziehung, (muslimische) Kindheit und Jugend sowie qualitative Forschungsmethoden.
