About this eBook

A small-town Texas sheriff gets wrapped up in love with a beautiful B&B owner in this heartwarming holiday romance by a New York Times bestseller.

The little town of Branding Iron, Texas, keeps an annual tradition that makes the holidays especially festive—the Cowboys’ Christmas Ball. But Sheriff Ben Marsden, busy with work, joint custody of his son, and caring for his aging mother, has no plans to attend. Not until a pretty newcomer to his small town gets involved in the planning. Suddenly Ben finds himself wanting to keep a close eye on Jessica Ramsey, and not just because her relatives seem to be in jail more than out. He can tell the mysterious redhead has secrets in her past, but now that she’s bought a little fixer upper with her mom to start a bed and breakfast, the whole family’s turning over a new leaf. With the prospect of dancing and celebrating ahead, surely there’s time for everyone to unwind. Because this year, more than ever, Ben’s got Christmas—and loving—on his mind.

A wonderful holiday story taking us to Branding Iron, Tx. Sheriff Ben Marsden has his hands full. Working hard to protect the town, worrying about his son and what his ex is up to, helping out his ailing mother. Doesn't leave much time for a personal life but the newcomer to town tempts him beyond measure and has him yearning for things he had long ago given up on. Jess Ramsey comes to town looking for her biological mother. Growing up she didn't have the best of lives but now she's all alone so she's hoping to get to know the woman who gave her life. The woman she finds may not be exactly what she was hoping for but she wouldn't give up on her. Plus, staying in Branding Iron is looking pretty good as she spends more and more time with the sexy Sheriff. Loved this small town holiday romance and I would definitely recommend it!

The book is okay but certainly not the quality that Janet Dailey would usually write. But she probably didn't write it since she died three years before it was published. In fact she died in 2013, but is still releasing new books in 2023. The use of a ghostwriter would explain the reason for Janet Dailey's new books being so mediocre.
